Applications are sought from enthusiastic, cheerful and efficient applicants for a part-time Receptionist position at The Mall School.
The Mall School in Twickenham is an independent day school for boys. The School is a charitable trust with a Board of Governors and is a member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools. Boys join the Juniors (Reception to Year 3) at 4+ and the Seniors (Years 4 to 8) at the age of 8. They leave The Mall School at thirteen through Common Entrance or Scholarship to a range of leading day and boarding schools including St Paul’s, Westminster, King’s College School, Wimbledon and Hampton School.
The Mall School is based on two sites about a ten minute walk apart. Mall Infants for Reception and Year 1, and 185 Hampton Road for Years 2 to 8. The Headmaster is in overall charge of the school but on a day to day basis the management and organisation of Reception to Year 3 is delegated to the Head of Juniors.
Despite being non-selective at Reception The Mall has an impressive academic track record achieved through excellent teaching and strong pastoral care. The School has exceptional, purpose built facilities including a 20 metre indoor swimming pool, 130 seat theatre, design technology workshop, art studio, two science laboratories and a recently opened sports hall. The Mall offers a broad curriculum including an extensive range of extra-curricular activities.
The Mall is a friendly and welcoming school which expects the best of its pupils. Relationships between staff and boys are excellent (Independent Schools Inspectorate, May 2013). Boys are keen to learn and to be actively involved in the life of the School. There are many opportunities for boys and staff to be involved in sport, music, drama, trips and other activities.
The part-time position is to work mornings (8.00 a.m. to 1.15 p.m.) Monday to Friday term time only, as part of team of two covering the Reception area at the main school site (185 Hampton Road). Salary is £10.00 per hour including holiday allowance and lunch provision. The successful candidates will be entitled to join the school’s pension scheme.
The post is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and the statutory DBS check. This role would suit someone who has experience of working in a reception area or within a customer services environment.

Following receipt of applications the Headmaster will select candidates who he wishes to interview. Interviews will be held during the week commencing Monday 28 November. Interviews will be conducted in person, and will assess the capability of the candidates against preselected criteria.
