Part Time Sales Assistant

Job Description:

London Decorators Merchants are a rapidly expanding Supplier of decorative products to Wholesale, Trade and Retail customers. They pride themselves in providing fantastic service, prices and the best possible products including top designer brands. They are looking to appoint a Part Time General Sales Assistant to sell specialist decorating materials to trade and retail customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent service to customers.
  • Promoting the branch to a high standard.
  • Developing sales of specialist decorating materials.
  • Maintaining the highest standard of store presentation and cleanliness.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested by the management team.

Candidate Requirements:

As a sales assistant you will be trained to give the very best advice on which products  customers should be using on their decorating projects. Colour is key to any decorating project and you will have the confidence to give advice on colour schemes and will be trained on using our lightbox and spectrophotometer to ensure our customers find the colour they require.

To do this you will need :

  • A passion for retail.
  • Enthusiastic about selling
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to build a rapport with customers
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • A hands-on, fast paced approach with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Smart in appearance
  • Knowledge of a trade would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Keen to learn and have an interest in our industry.

Previous retail experience and good computer skills would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
